I had always wanted to visit Galle Fort, so I chose Sun House for its convenient location. However, one feature that pleasantly surprised me was the in-house room guides and the ebullient manager, Miss Henri. The surprise cocktail at Dick's Bar, nominated as one of the best cocktail bars in the world, was a delightful addition to my stay. I also enjoyed the relaxed lifestyles of the early tea planters, where my day began with a hearty breakfast and finished with a cocktail at sunset.
Tip not included in price. The meals tended to be the usual set up of fish or meat with rice, and I would have appreciated some differentiation.

We had so much fun attending the cooking classes and learning to whip up delicious Sri Lankan dishes. It was amazing to see how professional chefs work and we even got to taste our creations. This experience alone made our trip a memorable one!
The only thing that could have made our stay even more epic would be if there was a happening bar or a vibrant nightlife scene nearby. As young party-goers, we love to dance and have a great time with friends.

We had a blast exploring Galle's old fort and chilling by the pool. The coolest part was the cooking classes they offered - it was like being on a cooking show! We learned to make the most amazing Sri Lankan dishes and had a feast afterwards. So much fun for food lovers like us!
The only thing we could've asked for was a DJ night or a party at the hotel. It would've been so awesome to have some late-night fun with fellow young party-goers.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this luxurious 4-star hotel. The location is perfect, situated close to the Fort where I spent a lot of time exploring the charming streets. It was nice to be away from the chaos of the town but still within walking distance or a short and affordable tuk-tuk ride.
I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. The staff, service, and room amenities were absolutely fantastic.

We had an exceptional stay at this hotel. It is within walking distance of the Fort, but far enough away from the chaos of the town. The cleanliness of the rooms was outstanding, and the hotel facilities were great. We loved the outdoor bathroom and the monkeys jumping around in the trees. The staff were very attentive and the breakfast was outstanding.
Nothing negative to say.

We stayed at this hotel during Easter and enjoyed the warm weather and beautiful garden. The breakfast and dinner were great and we enjoyed the traditional dishes. The location was convenient, as it was close to the market and shops. We also appreciated the friendly staff who made sure we had a comfortable stay.
We had a lot of issues during our stay, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the hotel. The rooms were run-down and uncomfortable, with old mattresses and poor wifi.

The Sun House in Galle offers a perfect atmosphere with music, a wide array of books, and a historic bar. The food is delicious and better than any we had during our 3-week trip in Sri Lanka. The staff went above and beyond for our family and the hotel is a nice retreat from the busy streets.
Felt so well taken care of, no reason to complain.
